History
VGI Consulting Inc. is the successor of a consulting civil and structural engineering practice established in 1965, Van der Merwe and Kroon. When Mr. PJ Venter joined the practice in 1970, the name was changed to Van der Merwe, Kroon and Venter.
Mr Boet Kroon passed away in 1978, and Mr van der Merwe resigned in 1985, and the name of the company was changed to Venter Grobler Incorporated.
In 2002, the name was changed to VGI Consulting Inc.
VGI Consulting Inc. became involved in the gas industry during the early 1970’s providing Engineering, Design and Construction Management services to the then Gascor, the predecessor of Sasol Gas.
During the late 1990’s and early 2000’s VGI evolved from a Consulting Civil and Structural Engineering company to a multidisciplinary engineering company, employing civil and mechanical engineers, and obtaining a 20 % stake in a consulting process engineering company, AVEC.
Today VGI Consulting provides a one stop consulting engineering service to our clients for petrochemical projects to include, with the assistance of our specialist partners with whom we have a very long working relationship, Process, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation and Cathodic Protection Engineering as well as Project, Construction and Safety Management services.
